Mendota Fame - Everett Larson
Mendota resident, 14 year-old Everett Larson, is an aspiring race car driver with six seasons of go-kart racing under his belt already! He currently competes at Ashway Speedway in Strawberry Plains, Tennessee in the Senior Champ Division.
Everett decided at only five years old when he first saw a Pro 4 Off-Road Racing Truck that driving fast was the life for him!
Next season, Everett will move into an Open Wheel Modified Dirt Car. He has spent several days at the track with this car getting valuable seat time. He is most proud of his experience driving this car for the first time at 12 years of age on a track with seasoned drivers.
While off track, Everett puts in hundreds of hours honing his skills iRacing on his simulator given to him by Nascar driver Corey LaJoie.
This spring, he was invited to Maryland to the home of Travis Pastrana, Multi-Time Gold Medalist in the X Games and Co-founder of Nitro Circus to drive and jump UTVs.
Whoaaa!!
Everett’s goal is to have a career in racing and is open to anything from NASCAR, Offroad, Rally, dirt track or pavement racing!
Everett is the son of Jon and Amy Larson of Mendota, Virginia. Racing is an expensive pursuit, and Everett also strives to do his part by working at the Food City Store in Abingdon, Virginia.
We are anxious to see what the future holds for this young man from a small community called Mendota who is not afraid to dream big.
